CMA Advocacy Committees

Ethics and Standards Committee

The CMA Ethics and Privacy Committee provides a forum for discussion and information exchange on matters related to privacy and marketing. CMA’s Ethics & Privacy Committee oversees development of CMA’s framework of industry self-regulation, in particular the CMA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, and related guides.

The Committee focuses on issues that affect trust in the marketplace, like privacy, marketing to children and the impact of new technological channels. It provides advice to assist the public policy advocacy work of Association staff and it helps to educate and promote awareness of the Code of Ethics to the Association membership.

Members need to demonstrate extensive experience in a senior marketing management and/or ethical and legal compliance role. They are selected based on how their expertise may be applied in the context of current priorities of the Committee.
